| CAF is committed to the environment within the framework of its institutional mission to promote sustainable development and regional integration, generating specific strategies and applying programs and initiatives.
The Institution develops innovative financing schemes that contribute to increase investment in the environment in the countries of the region.
CAF has developed an environmental management vision to support Latin American countries in building sustainable development that will enable them to migrate to low-carbon economies.
The Institution’s environmental strategic programs seek alignment with the international strategy for constructing sustainable development, to migrate to low carbon economies and optimize the ability to respond to its shareholder countries.
At the same time, CAF seeks to create synergy with the Millennium Development Goals; the Global Pact; the three conventions of the United Nations on desertification, biodiversity and climate change; and the Agenda 21 of Sustainable Development of the United Nations (Río+20).
