In its quest to promote sustainable development, as one of its strategic priorities, CAF promotes social and environmental sustainability in the region in all its transactions.
It is no wonder that, in addition to contributing to financing projects, programs, and social activities, CAF’s involvement emphasizes the need to work on strengthening institutions in the social sectors, generating alliances and agreements between the various stakeholders, and deepening analysis and finding solutions for the region’s social and environmental problems.
This comprehensive sustainable development strategy seeks to:
- Incorporate social and environmental dimensions as keystones to promote the rendering of sustainable basic social services, mainly to the poorest and most marginalized sectors of society.
- Contribute to the development of human capital by promoting equitable access to quality education and health.
- Preserve and promote community and cultural development in the region.
- Foster the creation of productive and quality employment opportunities for the most vulnerable groups in society.
