What is a NOOC?

It is a short, online and free course. These nano courses have been developed to enable Latin Americans and Caribbeans to learn quickly, easily, and concisely about development issues relevant to the region.

 

Objective:

Provide participants with a deep understanding of the concepts, policies, and challenges of a just energy transition, highlighting its relevance for sustainable development and emissions reduction in the region.

 

Specific objectives:

  • Understand the fundamentals of the energy transition, including the importance of clean energy and the need to limit global warming.

  • Identify supply-side, demand-side, and cross-cutting policies that support the energy transition in the region, analyzing how they contribute to energy efficiency, electrification, and emissions reduction.

  • Explore the opportunities and challenges associated with the energy transition in the region, including the potential for renewable energy generation and shifts in labor skill demands, to understand how a just and equitable transition can be achieved.

 

Target audience:

This course is intended for anyone interested in learning about the future of energy and its impact on sustainable development.

 

Methodology:

This course is delivered through an autonomous, flexible, and interactive approach, allowing participants to progress at their own pace and access the content from anywhere. Its modular structure combines the following learning resources:

  • Explanatory videos that describe key concepts and facilitate understanding.
  • Self-assessment activities that allow participants to reinforce learning.

 

Modules:

The course consists of 3 thematic modules distributed as follows:

  • Module 1: Fundamentals of the energy transition

  • Module 2: Policies supporting the energy transition

  • Module 3: Opportunities and challenges of a just transition

 

Certificate:

Upon completing the course, participants will be able to obtain a digital certificate of completion, provided they meet the evaluation requirements.
