CAF at COP15

Through Fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 15) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the international community is working to address the growing challenge that economic development poses to the planet's biodiversity and ecosystems. Despite significant progress, the Parties' efforts to reverse the trend of biodiversity loss have not been sufficient. The need to increase ambition in the definition of objectives and the availability of financial resources, the need to broaden the incentives for multi-sector collaboration and the need to broaden the participation of the financial system and of multilateral banks in particular, are highlighted.

In the context of the COP15 organized by the United Nations and to be held from December 7 to 19 in Montreal, a process of building international agreements between countries on the contents and targets that will be part of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, as the political and operational instrument of the CBD in the period 2022-2030 and the framework of the global vision on biodiversity for the period 2022-2050 is being carried out.
