CAF at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan: Latin America and the Caribbean – A Region of Solutions
From September 29 to October 3, 2025, CAF will take part in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, to showcase Latin America and the Caribbean as a region of solutions, highlighting its contributions to regional development that, in turn, provide valuable solutions to global challenges in sustainability, innovation, culture, and international cooperation.

At Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean – will join the pavilions of Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, and Peru to present engaging experiences and high-level presentations on sustainability, innovation, culture, and international cooperation.
This global stage is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase our region’s strategic value, forge stronger international alliances, and share solutions that can improve the lives of millions.
Brazil Pavilion

Amazonia: Living Heritage, Conservation for a Shared Future. An immersive audiovisual experience and presentation that highlights the Amazon biome’s vital role for regional and global sustainability. Participants will explore initiatives in conservation, sustainable water management, and green financing, as well as the joint efforts of Brazil and CAF toward the COP30 agenda. Visitors will also be invited to immerse themselves in the Amazon’s landscapes, sounds, and stories.

Colombia Pavilion

Talk show: Regional Coffees and Sustainability. An open-air activity in front of the Colombia Pavilion, featuring a dynamic dialogue exploring Colombia’s coffee regions and their unique characteristics, sustainability programs, and the legacy and future of Colombian coffee, with participants from CAF, the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC), and ProColombia Tokyo. The event will conclude with live brewing preparations and tastings of regional specialty coffees.

Portugal Pavilion

Living Oceans: Cooperation for a Blue Future. A presentation and audiovisual exhibition on the Portuguese Pavilion terrace showcasing the value of the oceans and the importance of blue sustainability. Visitors will explore panels and videos highlighting initiatives from Portugal and Latin America and the Caribbean on marine protection, sustainable management of coastal ecosystems, and resilience to climate change. The exhibition emphasizes the strategic role of ocean cooperation for a sustainable future.

Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan: A Global Stage for Cooperation
Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, organized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), will take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025, on the artificial island of Yumeshima. The venue will span 1.55 km² and will be surrounded by an iconic circular wooden structure known as the “Grand Ring.”
Under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” and the subthemes Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives, the event will bring together more than 160 countries and organizations. It is expected to attract 28 million visitors in total, with an average daily attendance of around 150,000 people.
This unique setting—blending architectural innovation, cultural diversity, and global cooperation—offers an ideal platform for Latin America and the Caribbean to showcase their strategic value to the world.
