Transparency is an essential condition for strengthening public trust, improving institutional management, and promoting more equitable and sustainable development. At CAF —development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean— this commitment is reflected in concrete actions aimed at ensuring access to information, accountability, and responsible management, thereby reinforcing the legitimacy and effectiveness of development banking in an increasingly demanding global environment.
In this context, the institution will present the CAF Transparency Report 2025, a new edition that reflects the progress achieved, shows the evolution of its practices, and reaffirms its commitment to increasingly robust standards of openness, decision traceability, and access to information. The publication of this report also provides an opportunity to share lessons learned, identify remaining challenges, and align institutional management with international best practices in governance.
More than an institutional principle, transparency is a strategic tool that strengthens the quality of public decision-making, promotes informed participation, and facilitates cooperation among key stakeholders. Its application makes it possible not only to monitor results and enhance accountability, but also to foster innovation, sustainability, and trust among shareholders, partners, and citizens.
This report demonstrates how transparency has become a cross-cutting pillar in CAF’s management, driving a culture of openness that contributes to more effective governance, the efficient mobilization of resources, and the strengthening of more solid and responsible institutions across Latin America and the Caribbean.

CAF Transparency Report 2024
Since its creation in 1968 as the financial arm of Andean integration, CAF has sought to promote the highest standards and best practices in financial and institutional matters across the region. Therefore, when its Board of Directors approved the Institutional Access to Information and Transparency Policy (PAITI) in 2022, it not only formalized an internal process, but also reinforced a commitment that has been part of the organization since its early days.
Last year, in Santiago, Chile, CAF presented its first Transparency Report, marking a milestone in strengthening its policy on access to information and accountability, and reaffirming its commitment to increasingly robust standards of institutional openness.
At CAF, there is a mandate from its shareholder countries to continuously advance toward stronger transparency standards. In line with this, the Corporate Strategy recognizes transparency as one of its core pillars for strengthening trust, legitimacy, and the effectiveness of institutional action.
This report presents the main progress achieved in transparency during 2024, as well as the efforts undertaken by the institution to consolidate an increasingly open, responsible, and internationally aligned management approach.
