Technical and professional education is key to promote productivity in the region
CAF, development bank of Latin America, and the Inter-American Dialogue will hold a seminar in Washington D.C. to address in detail the importance for companies to have a human capital that makes possible the introduction of innovations and generate positive external economies through the labor market
In order to promote human and entrepreneurial development and competitiveness with productive and social inclusion criteria in the economies, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, in alliance with Inter-American Dialogue, will carry out the seminar " Educación técnica y formación profesional en América Latina: el reto de la productividad" (Technical Education and Professional Training in Latin America: the Challenge of Productivity).
The seminar, to be held in Washington D.C. on January 28th, 2015, will address in detail the importance for companies to have a human capital that makes possible the introduction of innovations and generates positive external economies through the labor market, benefitting society as a whole.
During the event, success cases regarding this matter will be analyzed, such as the experience of several countries of the region; lessons learned, and the challenges and opportunities for Latin America in the area of technical and professional education as a key pillar for competitiveness in enterprises.
Guests include ministers and experts from the region, officials from multilateral entities, research centers and think tanks, as well as universities.
Among the most distinguished panelists are Luis Ernesto Carles, Minister of Labor and Social development of Panama; Alfonso Prada, Sena Director (Colombia); Rodolfo Tuiran Gutierrez, Under-Secretary of Education for Upper High School (Mexico) and Teresa Nakano, Director for Higher and Technical-Professional Education from the Ministry of Education (Peru), among others.
Thus, CAF seeks to favor productive inclusion in the region and the effective insertion of the population in productive processes.
