The event was organized by Faculdades Integradas de Taquara – FACCAT and the Union of University Social Responsibility from Latin America (URSULA). – URSULA, and gathered participants from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Portugal, Peru, Dominican Republic and Venezuela to discuss management indicators for University Social Responsibility, public policies on assessing higher education, regenerative economy, and innovation and sustainability in universities, among other topics.

“The university of the future must take responsibility for its impact on the environment and contribute to the construction of more sustainable and inclusive societies, starting with its surrounding communities. It must be responsible and train responsible human beings,” said Ana Mercedes Botero, Director of Social Innovation at CAF.

In addition, François Vallaeys, President of URSULA and lecturer-researcher at Universidad del Pacífico, emphasized that “the USR concept we are promoting is a unifying concept, which should be applicable throughout Latin America.” He also presented the 12 goals of the USR Management System and 66 indicators that are part of the URSULA Continental Research on the current status of USR in Latin America.

URSULA is an initiative promoted by CAF -development bank of Latin America- together with the Center for Leadership, Ethics and Social Responsibility (CLERS) of Peru’s Universidad del Pacífico.
