Voltage and electricity

For your trip to Panama, keep in mind that the electrical system is similar to that of the United States, Central America, and North America.

• Voltage: The standard voltage is 110/120 volts (V).

• Frequency: The frequency is 60 hertz (Hz).

• Plug Types: Type A (two flat prongs) and Type B (two flat prongs and one round grounding prong) plugs are primarily used.

Will You Need an Adapter?

If you are traveling from Europe, Asia, Oceania, or anywhere that uses 220-240V and different plug types (such as types C, E, F, G, I, etc.), you will need a plug adapter.

Important Note: Most devices (cell phone chargers, laptops) are multi-voltage (100V-240V), so they will only require the physical adapter. If you bring a high-consumption appliance (such as a hairdryer or travel iron) that only works at 220V, you will need a voltage converter to avoid damaging it.
