Work Networks

LACEA (The Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association o Asociación de Economía de América Latina y el Caribe)

CAF supports LACEA's annual meeting. This meeting (which takes place jointly with the Latin American chapter of the Econometric Society) is the main forum of academic economists from Latin America, where studies are presented about different topics associated to the economic and social development of the region. Support to this network allows CAF to take on the role of bringing the academy closer to the relevant issues of public policies in Latin America through the organization of sessions to present research work and discussion groups with experts. It also serves as a forum where CAF presents studies and works developed by staff from the Direction of Socioeconomic Research.

TIGN (Trade Integration and Growth Network)

Support to the TIGN enables the creation of a network of economists and academics that work in topics related to trade, integration, and development, with a special focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. It also facilitates the exchange of ideas between these researchers and policy-makers.

ALCAPONE (America Latina Crime and Policy Network)

Support to ALCAPONE helps join the efforts of the economists of Latin America and the Caribbean to study the consequences of crime and violence in the region, by allowing debates through the network on different research subjects related to this problem. The main objective of the cooperation is to promote discussion and exchange of ideas between researchers and policy-makers in order to generate positive feedback between academic research and public policies.

GDN (Global development Network)

This support is aimed at backing joint research efforts between Latin America and Asia. Support to GDN allows CAF to disseminate its knowledge products (for example, the RED) in Asia and Africa, continents where GDN has a significant presence.

Currently, cooperation is provided to a project on financial inclusion.
