Diploma in Governance and Public Innovation - The Caribbean (2nd edition)

This diploma has been developed by CAF in partnership with the most prestigious universities in Latin America and the Caribbean to offer a practical and applied approach to governance and public innovation with a special focus on transformative public leadership.

In Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago, it is offer in partnership with The University of the West Indies. With a duration of 6 months, it will seek to debate the strategic issues of sustainable development in the region, with a focus on skills and tools for public innovation and governance to achieve the SDGs 2030.

About the Diploma

This Diploma seeks to strengthen capacities and skills of leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean who work in the Public Administration at the national and subnational levels, the private sector and civil society in public innovation, governance and public management through strategic issues to promote transformative leadership that can face the current and future challenges of the region.

The pedagogical proposal is online, with online content offered by CAF and The University of the West Indies (UWI). The focus will be on developing skills and developing hands-on projects. For this, a lab instance will be offered for the development of local incidence projects.

For 6 months, you will be able to debate with students from Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago, but also from other countries from Latin America, Spain and Portugal.

Methodology

This 6-month program is offered in a mixed training scheme, in which CAF offers asynchronous online lessons, debate forums and master classes with international experts, while UWI will teach the classes in a synchronous online format.

Online bootcamp

At the end of the 6-month program, the best project in the country will participate in PHASE 4: Incubator. In this online phase (bootcamp), students will be refine and incubate the best project per country, so that they can become projects to be financed and/or implemented by CAF.

Cost

Cost per student: USD 425

The value of the diploma is USD 3,000 per student. CAF subsidizes 80% ​​of it so that the cost for the student is accessible. The cost is stipulated in USD. Payment is made directly to UWI through the payment method stipulated by the institution. Detailed payment instructions will be sent to your email once your registration has been approved

Certificate

Participants who pass the activities proposed in the course will receive a final certificate issued by CAF and UWI, which accredits their participation and approval. The certificate will be issued electronically (digital, secure, portable and shareable).

Application and selection process

1. Interested participants must register, registering their request in the form that you will find at the bottom of the page until May 15, 2022.
2. CAF and UWI will carry out the validation and selection of the participants based on their profile.
3. The selected participants must confirm their participation by making the registration payment to UWI. Those participants who are not selected in this edition will enter an invitation list for the next edition (2024).
4. Payment must be made during the month of May.
5. Once the payment is confirmed, the access information for the Diploma will be sent to you.
