The Annual CAF Conference will center on security in the Americas

April 23, 2024

Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the OAS, Rebecca BillChavez, President & CEO of the Inter-American Dialogue, and Sergio Díaz-Granados, Executive President of CAF, announced that the upcoming CAF Conference, set for September 5 in Washington DC, will specifically address security issues in Latin America and the Caribbean. Additionally, a preparatory event is scheduled during the OAS General Assembly from June 26 to 28, 2024, in Paraguay.

CAF promotes the development of Jamaica with its first bond issue

The Executive President of CAF, Sergio Diaz-Granados, met with the Minister of Finance and Public Service, Nigel Clarke, as CAF continues to strengthen the partnership with its existing shareholder countries. During the meeting, he highlighted a recent bond issue in Jamaican dollars that is in line with CAF's mission to assist its shareholder countries in the development and deepening of their domestic capital markets and local currencies.

CAF doubles its Caribbean shareholder countries

Continuing to deepen its engagement with CARICOM countries, CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean – convened a meeting with CARICOM Ministers of Finance during the WB-IMF Spring Meetings in Washington DC to advance the process for incorporating its three new Caribbean shareholder countries – Bahamas, Dominica and Grenada – into the financial institution.
