Professional Diploma in Governance and Public Innovation (4th edition)
This professional diploma has been developed by CAF in partnership with the most prestigious universities in Latin America and the Caribbean to offer a practical and applied approach to governance and public innovation with a special focus on transformative public leadership.
In Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago, it is offer in partnership with The University of the West Indies. With a duration of 6 months, it will seek to debate the strategic issues of sustainable development in the region, with a focus on skills and tools for public innovation and governance to achieve the SDGs 2030.

About the Professional Diploma
The fourth edition of the Diploma Program, offered in a hybrid format (virtual and in-person), aims to strengthen the capacities and skills of leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean working in public administration (national and subnational), the private sector, civil society, etc., in innovation and public management. It focuses on strategic issues for the region such as productive, sustainable, and inclusive recovery; digital transformation; gender and inclusion; biodiversity and climate change; innovation; circular and sustainable economy; integration of the 2030 SDGs into public and private practices, among others—ultimately promoting transformative leadership capable of addressing the region’s current and future challenges.
The program emphasizes skill development and the creation of practical, applicable projects. A dedicated lab space will be offered for the development of locally impactful initiatives.
The pedagogical proposal is online, with online content offered by CAF and The University of the West Indies (UWI).
For 6 months, you will be able to debate with students from Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago, but also from other countries from Latin America and Spain.

Methodology
The Diploma Program follows a blended format: 50% of the training is delivered online by CAF, while the remaining 50% is conducted online by the UWI.
In-person bootcamp
At the end of the 6-month program, the top 20 projects from the region will participate in "PHASE 4: Project Acceleration". In this in-person phase, each team will present their project to the other winning teams, international experts, CAF officials, and other guests. They will have the opportunity to enhance their project based on recommendations and lessons learned.
One representative per project will attend the in-person workshop. The other team members may join virtually. The representative will be chosen by the team and must meet specific criteria, which will be communicated in due time.
The host country for the event is yet to be determined.
Cost
Cost per student: USD 350
The cost is stipulated in USD. Payment is made directly to UWI through the payment method stipulated by the institution. Detailed payment instructions will be sent to your email once your registration has been approved.
Certificate
Participants who pass the activities proposed in the course will receive a final certificate issued by CAF and UWI, which accredits their participation and approval. The certificate will be issued electronically (digital, secure, portable and shareable).
Application and selection process
- Interested participants must register, registering their request in the form that you will find at the bottom of the page until June 25th.
- CAF and UWI will carry out the validation and selection of the participants based on their profile.
- The selected participants must confirm their participation by making the registration payment to UWI. Those participants who are not selected in this edition will enter an invitation list for the next edition (2026).
- Payment must be made during the month of june and july.
- Once the payment is confirmed, the access information for the professional certificate will be sent to you.
