CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean- and Sacyr signed a credit line of up to USD 250 million to partially and strategically finance the Sacyr Group's investments in CAF shareholder countries, expanding the bank's regional reach through a global partner that consolidates the development of sustainable infrastructure.

The credit line will be implemented under three modalities: disbursement of individual loans; granting of partial credit guarantees and guarantees; and acquisition of bonds. In addition, resources will be channeled exclusively to projects in strategic sectors such as sustainable infrastructure, water, sanitation and health, and transportation.

"This agreement not only represents an important step in CAF's strategy of accompanying the private sector in the development of projects that boost competitiveness, connectivity and sustainability in Latin America and the Caribbean, but also contributes to the fulfillment of a greater goal: to be another link in the achievement of the SDGs," said Antonio Silveira, CAF's Vice President for the Private Sector.

Sacyr currently has an active presence in more than 15 countries in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania; it is positioned as one of the main global infrastructure developers, with more than 70 concessions and more than 5,200 kilometers of highways and railroads under management. In addition, in the last 20 years, it has accumulated investments of more than USD 27 billion, standing out for its capacity to execute the entire infrastructure value chain, from design to operation and maintenance.

In Latin America, the company has a solid presence in Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil and Paraguay, which makes it a strategic ally for CAF in the execution of priority regional integration and sustainability projects.
