Netflix and CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean- signed an agreement to boost the growth of the audiovisual sector in Latin America and the Caribbean and promote economic development, social inclusion and talent training in the region.

The agreement seeks to strengthen the creative industry through four main axes: evaluation of the economic impact of audiovisual production, including studies on its multiplier effect on local economies; education and training to strengthen the sector's skills and improve job opportunities; reduction of gaps in the industry, with special emphasis on the inclusion of vulnerable communities; and promotion of regional production, supporting the sustainable growth of the audiovisual ecosystem in the region.

"With the collaboration between governments and their communities on the one hand, and private initiatives on the other, we will be able to ambitiously and rigorously take Latin America's audiovisual industries to the place their talent and cultures deserve. Together we will transform projects into realities," said Francisco Ramos, Vice President of Content for Latin America at Netflix.

"The audiovisual industry is key to generating employment, innovation and growth, and together with Netflix we will provide tools to maximize its potential. This agreement reinforces our commitment to the sustainable and inclusive development of Latin America and the Caribbean," said Sergio Díaz-Granados, CAF's executive president.

CAF and Netflix will also explore the development of joint studies and research, training and capacity building programs and events to promote industry partnerships. Each initiative will be defined by mutual agreement, and its execution will be subject to the internal guidelines of both institutions.
