CAF, Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, approved a loan of USD 200 million to finance sustainable mobility projects in Bogota, as part of the Capital District's Investment Plan. These resources will specifically support the initiatives of the District Development Plan 2024-2027 "Bogota Camina Segura", which seeks to improve the quality of life of citizens through a safer, more inclusive and sustainable mobility system.
The funding, which may be used through different financing instruments, will be focused on projects that promote climate action, regional integration, and equitable access to public services. The initiatives financed will help strengthen the social fabric and take advantage of the potential of the Bogota territory under a development model committed to environmental sustainability.
"With this operation, CAF reaffirms its support for Bogota's urban transformation toward a more sustainable and inclusive city. The mobility projects we will finance will not only improve the quality of life of the people of Bogota, but will also serve as a model of low-carbon urban development for the entire region," said Sergio Diaz-Granados, CAF's executive president.
