The finance ministers that make up CAF's Board of Directors disembarked in Seville for the CAF Board meeting, which mobilizes new resources for sustainable development in the region, especially in sectors such as infrastructure, climate action, health, urban mobility and energy transition.

During the opening session, Sergio Díaz-Granados, CAF's Executive President, said, "We are initiating a historic Board of Directors. The activities we will hold here are also a seed that we are planting to open a new cycle in the relationship between Spain and Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean. The invitation is for us to act. To continue generating more hope and trust by strengthening these relations that in the past contributed much to our common history, and that define much of what we are today.

For his part, Juanma Moreno, President of the Junta de Andalucía, said that "we are probably in the piece of land, outside Latin America and the Caribbean, that most feels the region. It is a twinning that we always try to cultivate, fostering a mutual enrichment that started centuries ago. We are delighted to host the first meeting of the CAF Board of Directors in Seville; a new milestone in the magnificent relations we have".

José Luis Sanz Ruíz, Mayor of Seville, stated that "Seville is committed to sustainable development, and is a natural port between Europe and Latin America; between continents and cultures. Today more than ever we are united by a common commitment to progress, sustainability, innovation and the construction of fairer, more resilient and inclusive societies".
