At COP30, CAF consolidated its role as the region's green bank, and highlighted Latin American and Caribbean solutions for green financing, conservation of strategic ecosystems such as the Amazon, blue economy, Biodiverciudades, sustainable agriculture, and innovative financial mechanisms such as debt swaps and biodiversity credits.
Currently, 43% of CAF's financing is earmarked for green finance, surpassing the target set for 2026. The institution also led, together with ACTO, the Latin America, Caribbean and Amazon Pavilion which, under the slogan #Climate is life, became one of the epicenters of the climate debate with more than 60 activities in which ministers and senior academic, economic and social authorities from the world of global climate change participated. Major announcements were made in this space, such as CAF's unprecedented commitment to dedicate US$40 billion over the next five years to promote green growth, with which the institution will consolidate a portfolio of operations that combines project financing, promotion of public policies, investments, lines of credit and work with subnational governments in the areas of energy, water and sanitation, mobility, agriculture, disaster risk management and strategic ecosystems.
"At this COP we have graduated as a green bank for Latin America and the Caribbean and as promoters of Latin American solutions in the global climate scenario.
