LAC needs better fiscal policies to finance its development

A total of 8 FinTechs from Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay won the 2021 edition of the CAF Financial Inclusion Lab (LIF), which this year focused on the countries of the southern cone, and aimed to promote technological solutions that help improve financial inclusion of vulnerable groups and boost competitiveness of SMEs.

FinTech companies uils, Sumeria, MiFinanzas, QUASH.ai, ERPyme, MiBolsillo App (Techstars ‘21), Charly.io and Fundación Paraguaya were selected as winners of the LIF 2021 Southern Cone, and will become part of Seedstars’ and Endeavor’s acceleration programs, which will help strengthen their operations and follow up on the growth trend they are currently experiencing.
The LIF 2021 received 192 applications and selected 20 finalists for a pitch day, in which they presented their ventures to the Lab’s allies, which include entities from the public and private sectors and associations from Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. Additionally, all finalists will participate in a series of webinars organized by Village Capital.
The LIF 2021 aims to support projects and business initiatives with a high degree of innovation and that include technological solutions that help reduce the gap between people with and without access to financial services, as well as promote the use and high-quality of financial products and services.
The Lab is a platform that brings together the public, private sector and entrepreneurs and investors with the aim of promoting business opportunities, favoring the interaction of members of the business ecosystem and providing concrete solutions to development needs raised by the allies of this initiative.
