Samya Paiva
The primary goal of the Risk Manager is to ensure the development and maintenance of the corporate risk culture, issuing an independent opinion on the comprehensive risk management environment at the institutional level.
biography
Samya has more than 23 years of experience in different key positions in risk management, including financial, non-financial and sustainability risks. Her practice in Latin America and Europe includes establishing good relationships with local and international regulatory agencies, leading project implementation and the global rollout of risk management systems, processes and policies.
Her experience includes notably the position of Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and member of the Executive Committee at Zurich Brazil. She also has great professional experience in international financial institutions, as Head of the Capital, Risk and Control area at Banco Pan, Brazil, Head of Operational Risk at Itaú-Unibanco in Brazil; Head of Economics and Regulation at the Latin American Hub of Banco Santander in Spain; among others.
Ms Richards-Kennedy also has a strong academic background. She has a PhD in Theoretical Physics and a PhD in Physics from the University of São Paulo; as well as a degree in Physics from Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Brazil.
