King of Spain receives Latin American and Caribbean ministers to strengthen ties of cooperation

Within the framework of the activities of CAF - development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean - in Spain to establish a new investment agenda between the European Union (EU) and the region, a delegation of Latin American and Caribbean ministers met with the King of Spain, Felipe VI, in a meeting that reflects the new momentum that Ibero-American and European relations are taking, coinciding with the Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU.

Latin American and Caribbean ministers will meet on September 15 in Santiago de Compostela with their EU counterparts in a historic meeting organized by the Government of Spain and CAF, which aims to establish a new investment and cooperation agenda in three key areas of the development of the region: the green transition, digital transformation and human development.

During the morning, the Latin American delegations participated in the CAF 2023 Conference, focused on the “European Union-Latin America and the Caribbean relations. A joint agenda for development”, to strengthen bi-regional ties in three key areas of development such as the green transition, digital transformation and human development.

CAF is promoting new alliances between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean with the aim of boosting investment and trade, jointly addressing major global challenges such as climate change or digital transformation, and putting Latin American and Caribbean solutions in orbit. of international decision-making forums.
