CAF - the development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean - and the Hay Festival have formalized a memorandum of understanding between both entities to promote and encourage cultural and creative economies in the region, through a program of events that will be part of the Hay festivals in Mexico, Spain, Peru, Panama, Colombia.

The agreement was signed by the executive president of CAF, Sergio Díaz-Granados, and the director of the Hay Festival, Cristina Fuentes la Roche, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

The activities will include talks and workshops aimed at the general public and university students, where experts from the entrepreneurship and cultural economy sector, such as managers, editors, or experts in the music industry, will discuss their work and the challenges of the sector in their respective countries and in the Latin American region.

Both organizations are working together to offer activities that promote sustainable development, inclusion, and non-discrimination in the field of cultural and creative industries, through the Hay festivals of Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Panama, and Peru, countries where CAF also operates. The goal is to promote spaces for meeting, exchange, and creation to make visible and promote good practices with a strong emphasis on the 2030 Agenda.
