CAF reaffirms support for implementation and follow-up of the Summit of the Americas mandates
The General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Joint Summit Working Group (JSWG), composed of multilateral institutions such as CAF, World Bank, IDB, ECLAC, Caribbean Development Bank, CABEI, IICA, ILO, IOM and PAHO, signed today a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Washington D. C.
The General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Joint Summit Working Group (JSWG), composed of multilateral institutions such as CAF, World Bank, IDB, ECLAC, Caribbean Development Bank, CABEI, IICA, ILO, IOM and PAHO, signed today a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the aim of strengthening cooperation in supporting the implementation and follow-up of the Summit of the Americas mandates.
The executive president of CAF, Luis Carranza, co-signed the memorandum of understanding together with other representatives of the signatory institutions. CAF-as an institutional partner of the Joint Summit Working Group of the Americas-is playing an active role in the Summit process, developing important regional initiatives to support shareholder countries and boosting regional integration and sustainable development.
The JSWG aims to develop an interagency partnership to support the 34 governments of the Americas in reaching the targets set at these summits. Each institution has included programs and activities that support the implementation of action plans arising from presidential summits into their agendas and strategic actions.
