November 26, 2021

With the signing of a side agreement with the government of Catamarca, the $13 million loan granted by the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) was modified to prioritize the development of the “Strategic Plan for Sustainable Tourism of the Province of Catamarca—Infrastructure Program”, which includes the financing of strategic works to improve connectivity and expand the province’s tourism offer.

The Governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil; the Minister of Infrastructure and Civil Works, Eduardo Niederle; the Minister of Mining, Fernanda Ávila; and the Coordinator of the Program’s Provincial Management Unit, Valeria Gallo, all participated in the official signing ceremony. CAF was represented by Corporate Vice President of Strategic Programming, Christian Asinelli; Director of Sustainable Development Projects in the Southern Region under the Vice Presidency of Sustainable Development (VSD), Sebastián Abbatemarco; CAF’s Representative in Argentina, Santiago Rojas; National Executive, Marisa Spina; and VSD Executive, Andrea Rispo. Also in attendance was the National Director of Financing with Regional Credit Organizations within the Office of the President’s Secretariat of Strategic Affairs, Marcos Vago.

The program’s implementation will promote tourism in Catamarca through the development of infrastructure and tourism products that attract more tourists, thereby increasing revenue from that industry.

The works to be financed from CAF’s loan are:
